Creating AQW Items

Getting started

First of all, you need to get a program which is able to create vector art. Some examples for such programs are Adobe Animate or Inkscape. Next just download an armor template and start creating.

Basic tips

1) Never use gradients if you don't know how to use them. Don't use them to color things or instead of shading, they should be only used for effects. Also keep in mind: "If you can do it without gradients, you don't need them."
2) Keep things at the same angle and light source.
3) Have all lineart on .10 hairlines.
4) Try to avoid making things into symbols for each piece on a limb, put it all in one symbol with different layers instead. It helps to reduce the file size and it causes less lag.
5) General rule of thumb for digital artists: zoom out every once in a while. When zoomed in you get lost in the details and forget about the flow of the overall set. Zoom out and check that everything works well together, the shading/lighting is consistent, etc.
6) Save like your life depends upon it. Autosave is also your friend (most of the time) so make sure autosave is on.
